Products found to contain undeclared medicines

Australia : Ja Dera Max+ capsules pose serious health risks containing undeclared substance lignocaine |

The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) has tested a product labelled Ja Dera Max+ capsules and found that the capsules contained the undeclared substance lignocaine (also known as lidocaine) which is widely used as an anaesthetic and antiarrhythmic drug.
Ja Dera Max+ capsules have not been assessed by the TGA for quality, safety or efficacy as required under Australian legislation, and the place of manufacture is not approved by the TGA.
TGA investigations have shown that a number of people in Australia may have bought the product online.
There is a similar counterfeit product Ja Dera 100% Weight Loss Supplement capsules which also contains other undeclared pharmaceuticals such as sibutramine. Sibutramine was withdrawn from world markets in 2010 due to increased risk of cardiac events and stroke.
