B. Braun Medical Ltd is recalling Sodium Bicarbonate 8.4% 100ml bottles with batch number 111028022 and expiry 28/02/2013. The reason of the recall is that B. Braun have received reports of precipitation whilst in use. The remaining stock to be quarantined.

In Hong Kong, Sodium Bicarbonate Inj 8.4% (HK-28230) is registered by B. Braun Medical (HK) Ltd. According to the company, the above batch has not been marketed in Hong Kong. However the company stated another batch, 111358021 was also affected and it was distributed in Hong Kong during July and November 2011. A batch recall of the product will be initiated. Letters to inform healthcare professionals will be issued and press statement will be released.
