Health Canada announces that Vetoquinol N A Inc. is recalling one lot of ANTIHISTAMINE ORAL Powder (ephedrine hydrochloride 20mg/g, pyrilamine (mepyramine) maleate 50mg/g) (lot number: 08042A) from retailers because the affected lot may contain concentrations of ephedrine hydrochloride and pyrilamine maleate that are outside the labeled concentration.
The product is indicated for use in horses as an aid in relief of coughing due to respiratory congestion, and in the relief of difficult breathing in horses which are allergic to antigens in feed, pollen and injected substances. It also provides relief in cases of skin rash (urticaria) and itching when such conditions are the result of an allergy.
