Health Canada announces that Novo Nordisk Canada Inc. is recalling 5 lots of Vagifem® 10 Vaginal Tablet (estradiol (estradiol hemihydrate) 10 mcg) (lot number: PE78516, RE78561, RE78566, RE78594, RE78796) from wholesalers because the dissolution is out of specification in the affected lots.
The product is indicated for the treatment of the symptoms of vaginal atrophy due to estrogen deficiency.

In Hong Kong, Vagifem Vaginal Tab 0.01mg (HK-61339) is a pharmaceutical product registered by Novo Nordisk Hong Kong Ltd. (Novo Nordisk). The product is a prescription-only medicine. As confirmed by Novo Nordisk, the affected lots have not been imported into Hong Kong.
