| Canada: Recall: Septodont Products: Cracked glass cartridges |

Health Canada announces that Novocol Pharmaceutical of Canada Inc. (subsidiary of Septodont) is recalling the following products from wholesalers and healthcare establishments because glass cartridges may be cracked in the affected lot(s):
- 3% Polocaine Dental Liquid (mepivacaine hydrochloride 30mg/ml) (lot number: D05159E)
- Cook-Waite Lidocaine 2% and Epinephrine 1:100,000 Solution (lot number: D05407A)
- OraVerse Solution (phentolamine mesylate 0.4mg/1.7ml) (lot number: D05004F)
Both 3% Polocaine Dental Liquid and Cook-Waite Lidocaine 2% and Epinephrine 1:100,000 Solution are indicated for production of local anesthesia for dental procedures by infiltration or nerve block. OraVerse Solution is indicated for reversal of soft-tissue anesthesia resulting from an intraoral submucosal injection of a local anesthetic containing a vasoconstrictor, following a non-invasive routine dental procedure.

In Hong Kong, Scadonest 3% Plain Inj (HK-21454) is a pharmaceutical product containing mepivacaine which is registered by Horseley Co Ltd. (Horseley) and manufactured by Septodont. The product is a prescription-only medicine. As confirmed by Horseley, the affected lot has not been imported into Hong Kong.
In Hong Kong, Octocaine 100 Inj (HK-56809) is a pharmaceutical product containing lignocaine (lidocaine) and adrenaline (epinephrine) which is registered by Gowin Development Limited (Gowin) and manufactured by Novocol. The product is a prescription-only medicine. According to the records of Department of Health (DH), there is no Octocaine 100 Inj (HK-56809) with valid product shelf life since its last importation into Hong Kong in January 2022. Accordingly, DH has informed Gowin to follow-up on the Health Canada announcement.
In Hong Kong, OraVerse Solution is not a registered pharmaceutical product.
