The U.S. Food and Drug Administration informed consumers of a voluntary recall after Slim Xtreme Herbal Slimming Capsules was found to contain undeclared sibutramine. Sibutramine was previously used to treat obesity but is no longer authorized for sale in Canada because of its association with an increased risk of cardiovascular side effects such as heart attack and stroke. Slim Xtreme Herbal Slimming Capsules is promoted as a 100% natural dietary supplement used for weight loss.
