| Canada: Recall: Enteric Coated Daily Low Dose ASA 81mg: free salicylic acid can be out of specification |

Health Canada announces that Vita Health Products Inc. is recalling the following acetylsalicylic acid products from retailers because the impurity, free salicylic acid, may be out of specification in the affected lots:
- Compliments ASA 81mg Tablet (Delayed-Release) (lot number: 3H3795U7K, 3H3795TTJ, 3H3795RRQ, 3G4865SSK)
- RIVASA 81mg EC Tablet (Delayed-Release) (lot number: 3G4865SUK)
- Stanley ASA 81mg Tablet (Delayed-Release) (lot number: 3G4865SUJ, 3H3795UNK)
- Equate Enteric Coated Daily Low Dose ASA 81mg Tablet (Delayed-Release) (lot number: 3G4865RXX, 3H3795U9Q, 3H3795VA2)
- Kirkland Enteric Coated Daily Low Dose ASA 81mg Tablet (Delayed-Release) (lot number: 3G4475SUL, 3G4865SZJ, 3G5265SZJ, 3G5675TFJ, 3H3795U9R, 3H3475TFH, 3H3475TFJ)
The products are indicated for reducing the risk of vascular mortality in patients with a suspected acute myocardial infarction; reducing the risk of a first non-fatal myocardial infarction in individuals deemed to be at sufficient risk of such an event by their physician; reducing the risk of morbidity and death in patients with unstable angina and in those with previous myocardial infarction; reducing the risk of transient ischemic attacks and for secondary prevention of atherothrombotic cerebral infarction.
