Canada: Recall: pms-Zopiclone Tablet 7.5mg |

Pharmascience Inc. is recalling four lots of pms-Zopiclone Tablet 7.5mg (lot no.: 470882, 470884, 488194 and 488195) as these lots may contain oversized tablets exceeding the maximum recommended daily dose of 7.5 mg. The depth of distribution of the product is wholesalers and pharmacies in Canada.
Health Canada classified the hazard level of the recall as Type II, i.e. a situation in which the use of, or exposure to, a product may cause temporary adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.

In Hong Kong, pms-Zopiclone Tab 7.5mg (HK-49865) is a pharmaceutical product registered by Trenton-Boma Ltd (T-Boma), and is a prescription-only medicine. As confirmed with T-Boma, 250 bottles (500 tablets per bottle) of the affected batch (batch no.: 470882) have been imported into Hong Kong in April 2013. All products have been supplied to private doctors and local pharmacies in the same month. As a precautionary measure, T-Boma will voluntarily recall the affected batch of product from the market. So far, the Department of Health (DH) has not received any case of adverse drug reaction after taking the product. DH will closely monitor the recall.
