The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) has tested a product labelled New Queen Slimming soft gel capsules and found that the capsules contain the undeclared substance sibutramine which is a prescription-only substance. Sibutramine was withdrawn from world markets in 2010 due to increased risk of cardiac events and stroke.
New Queen Slimming soft gel capsules pose a serious risk to health and should not be taken. TGA investigations have shown that a number of people in Australia may have bought the product online.
Consumers are advised to stop taking the product and consult their health care practitioner if they have any concerns arising from the use of the product.
