| The United States: Red Bull Extreme and Blue Bull Extreme may be harmful due to hidden drug ingredient (English only) |

The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is advising consumers not to purchase or use Red Bull Extreme or Blue Bull Extreme, products promoted and sold for sexual enhancement on various websites and possibly in some retail stores. These products were identified during an inspection of Pure Vitamins and Natural Supplements LLC, in Tampa.
FDA laboratory analysis confirmed that Red Bull Extreme and Blue Bull Extreme contain sildenafil not listed on the product label. Red Bull Extreme or Blue Bull Extreme were recalled by one of its distributors – Pure Vitamins and Natural Supplements, as announced on 14 Mar 2026.
Sildenafil is the active ingredient in the FDA-approved prescription drug Viagra, used to treat erectile dysfunction. FDA approval of Viagra is restricted to use under the supervision of a licensed healthcare professional. This undeclared ingredient may interact with nitrates found in some prescription drugs, such as nitroglycerin, and may lower blood pressure to dangerous levels. People with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol or heart disease often take nitrates.
