| The United States: DMagic Plus may be harmful due to hidden ingredients |
| |
The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is advising consumers not to purchase or use DMagic Plus, a product promoted and sold for weight loss on various websites, including www.lamilagrosalab.com, and possibly in some retail stores.
FDA laboratory analysis confirmed that DMagic Plus contains diclofenac, neriifolin and thevetin B not listed on the product label.
Diclofenac is a type of pain and inflammation reliever known as an NSAID. NSAIDs can increase the risk of serious heart problems, such as heart attack and stroke, and can cause serious gastrointestinal problems, such as bleeding, ulcers or life-threatening tears in the stomach or intestinal lining. Diclofenac can interact with other medications, especially other NSAID-containing products, and may significantly increase the risk of these serious side effects.
Neriifolin and thevetin B are found in the yellow oleander (Thevetia peruviana) plant and can cause neurologic, gastrointestinal and cardiovascular adverse health effects that may be severe, or even fatal.
