Canada: Recall: ERYTHROMYCIN OPHTHALMIC OINTMENT USP: Product sterility may be compromised (English only)
 
Health Canada announces that Steri-Med Pharma Inc. is recalling 2 lots of Erythromycin Opthalmic Ointment USP (lot number: 2024E06, 2024E09) from retailers because the sterility of the product may be compromised in the affected lots.

The product is indicated for the treatment of superficial ocular infections involving the conjunctiva and/or cornea caused by organisms susceptible to erythromycin and for the prophylaxis of ophthalmic neonatorum due to N. gonorrhoeae or C. trachomatis.
