| Taiwan: Recall of "瑞士"宜保利血注射液10000單位/毫升 EPREX INJECTION 10000IU/ML |

In Hong Kong, there are nine Eprex products registered by Johnson & Johnson (Hong Kong) Ltd (J&J). All products are prescription-only medicines. The Department of Health (DH) previously received notification from J&J that the impurity content of certain batches of the products was found to be elevated during stability testing by its manufacturer. Although the levels of the impurity were still within specification, J&J decided to recall the affected batches as a precautionary measure. On 18 May 2015, DH endorsed J&J to voluntarily recall 5 batches of Eprex products, including the batch number EJS6Q00 recalled in Taiwan. Details of the affected batch are as follows: Eprex 1000 Prefilled Syringe 1000iu/0.5ml (HK-39774) (lot no.: EBS4F00), Eprex 4000 Prefilled Syringe 4000iu/0.4ml (HK-39776) (lot no.: EAS4300, EBS5C00 and EJS6Q00) and Eprex 5000 Prefilled Syringe 5000iu/0.5ml (HK-49846) (lot no.: EAS4100). Related news has been posted on the Drug Office website on the same day. So far, DH has not received any case of adverse drug reaction on the product.
