In Hong Kong, Cerebrolysin Inj (HK-29305) containing porcine brain derived peptide preparation is a pharmaceutical product registered by Ever Neuro Pharm (Asia) Limited, and is an over-the-counter medicine. The package insert of the product has included the contraindications and adverse effects mentioned in the above announcement. So far, the Department of Health (DH) has not received any adverse drug reaction report related to brain protein hydrolyzate. DH wil remain vigilant on any safety update on the product by other overseas drug regulatory authorities.
