| China: Announcement by China Food and Drug Administration on amendment of product insert of Thiamazole/Methimazole Tablets (2018 Issue no. 17) |

In Hong Kong, there are 2 registered pharmaceutical products containing thiamazole/methimazole, namely Methimazole Tab 5mg (Synco) (HK-05076) and Lica Tab 5mg (HK-17386), and both are prescription-only medicines. The above revised contents of the product insert are similar to those contained in overseas reputable drug references such as the “Martindale: The Complete Drug Reference”. The Department of Health (DH) will remain vigilant on safety update of thiamazole/methimazole issued by other overseas drug regulatory authorities.
