| The United States: Umary contains hidden drug ingredients |
| |
The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) continues to advise consumers not to purchase or use Umary products. FDA laboratory analysis confirmed that additional versions of Umary products sold on eBay.com contain diclofenac, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (commonly referred to as NSAIDs).
As previously reported by FDA, NSAIDs may cause increased risk of cardiovascular events, such as heart attack and stroke, as well as serious gastrointestinal damage, including bleeding, ulceration, and fatal perforation of the stomach and intestines. This hidden drug ingredient, diclofenac, may also interact with other medications and significantly increase the risk of adverse events, particularly when consumers use multiple NSAID-containing products.
