The United States: Public Notification: CholesLo contains hidden drug ingredient lovastatin

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is advising consumers not to purchase or use CholesLo, a product promoted and sold for lowering cholesterol on various websites and possibly in some retail stores.

FDA laboratory analysis confirmed that CholesLo contains undeclared lovastatin. Lovastatin is the active ingredient in MevacorĀ® and its generic counterparts, which are FDA-approved drugs used to treat patients with primary hypercholesterolemia. This undeclared drug ingredient may cause serious side effects when combined with other medications.

Please refer to the following website in FDA for details: http://www.fda.gov/drugs/medication-health-fraud/public-notification-choleslo-contains-hidden-drug-ingredient

In Hong Kong, the above product is not a registered pharmaceutical product.
