Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) announces that Accord-UK Ltd is recalling one batch of Levothyroxine Tablets BP 50 micrograms (batch number: XATA30) as a precautionary measure due to out of specification results for tablet hardness obtained during stability testing. This issue may result in tablets that crumble or break when removed from the packaging.

In Hong Kong, Levothyroxine Tab 50mcg (HK-56044) is a pharmaceutical product manufactured by Actavis UK Ltd (new name: Accord UK Ltd). This product is registered by Teva Pharmaceutical Hong Kong (Teva), and is a prescription-only medicine. As confirmed with Teva, the affected batch has not been imported into Hong Kong.
