| The United States: Public Notification: Detoxi Slim contains hidden drug ingredient |
| |
The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) continues to advise consumers not to purchase or use Detoxi Slim, a product promoted for weight loss, sold by People’s Bazaar II, and possibly in some retail stores and on various websites. FDA conducted additional laboratory testing of Detoxi Slim and found the product continues to contain sibutramine not listed on the product label.
Sibutramine is a controlled substance that was removed from the market in October 2010 for safety reasons. The product poses a threat to consumers because sibutramine is known to substantially increase blood pressure and/or heart rate in some people and may present a significant risk for people with a history of coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, or stroke. This product may also interact, in life-threatening ways, with other medications a consumer may be taking.

In Hong Kong, the above product is not a registered pharmaceutical product. Related news was previously issued by FDA, and was posted on the Drug Office website on 27 Jun 2019.
