Health Sciences Authority (HSA) announces that Goldplus Universal Pte Ltd. is recalling 11 batches of Carbimazole 5 Tablet 5 mg (batch number: 118605, 116385, 116384, 112792, 112791, 109399, 109358, 101671, 101666, 98210, 97872) to the wholesale level due to out-of-specification test results in stability study.
Carbimazole is used to reduce the formation of thyroid hormones in patients with an overactive thyroid gland.

In Hong Kong, Carbimazole 5 Tab 5mg (Remedica) (HK-52760) is a pharmaceutical product registered by Healthcare Pharmascience Limited (HCPS) and is a prescription-only medicine. As confirmed by HCPS, the affected batches in the above HSA announcement have not been imported into Hong Kong.
Meanwhile, the Department of Health (DH) recently endorsed HCPS on 14 Aug 2026 to recall three batches of Carbimazole 5 Tab 5mg (Remedica) (HK-52760) (batch number: 113195, 120776 and 120809) from the market as a precautionary measure due to potential quality issue. A recall statement was posted on the Drug Office website on the same date.
