The captioned eight products promoted for sexual enhancement were found to contain the following undeclared drug substances:
- Bali Mojo and Vimax: contain undeclared tadalafil;
- LOVher capsules: contain undeclared tadalafil, sildenafil and diclofenac;
- Erec-Bull: contain undeclared yohimbine;
- Best Whips, JINQIANGBUDOR Red Dragon and Super Hard tablets: contain undeclared sildenafil; and
- CONTROL All Natural Sexual Enhancement: contain undeclared sulfoaildenafil and dimethylsildenafil
Sildenafil and tadalafil should not be used by individuals taking any kind of nitrate drug (e.g., nitroglycerine) as it can cause potentially life-threatening low blood pressure. Individuals with heart problems are at increased risk of cardiovascular side effects such as heart attack, stroke, chest pain, high blood pressure and abnormal heartbeat. Yohimbine is a prescription drug used to treat abnormal blood pressure and its side effects include abnormal blood pressure and heartbeat, anxiety, tremors, headache, nausea and sleep disorders. Diclofenac is a prescription drug in the family known as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and is used to treat pain, fever and inflammation.
These products are not authorized for sale in Canada and have not been found in the Canadian marketplace, but it is possible they may have been brought into the country by travellers or purchased over the Internet. Canadians who have these products are advised not to use them, and should consult with a healthcare professional if they have concerns about their health related to the use of these products.
