| Canada: Unauthorized "Jupiter" and "Kratom Zone" kratom products seized from two Edmonton stores |

Health Canada is advising Canadians that it has seized unauthorized “Jupiter” and “Kratom Zone” kratom products from two retail stores in Edmonton, AB:
- “Jupiter” product: Jupiter Maeng Da Kratom
- “Kratom Zone” products: Kratom Zone Bali Kratom Powder, Kratom Zone Horned Leaf Maeng Da Kratrom Powder, Kratom Zone Maeng Da Kratom Powder, Kratom Zone Malay Kratom Powder, Kratom Zone Red Vein Kratom and Kratom Zone White Vein Kratom Powder
Kratom (Mitragyna speciosa) is an herbal product that may pose serious health risks when swallowed or inhaled. Side effects include drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, seizures, liver toxicity and excessively rapid heartbeat. Kratom has been linked to both narcotic and stimulant-like effects, and has potential for abuse and dependence. Consumers are advised to stop using these products and consult with their health care professional if they have used any of these products and have health concerns.
