Health Canada announces that GlaxoSmithKline Inc. is recalling 2 lots of Nucala Pre-filled Autoinjector (mepolizumab 100mg/ml) (lot number: JP3E, A73A) from retailers and wholesalers due to presence of foreign matter in the affected lots.

In Hong Kong, Nucala Solution For Injection In Pre-filled Pen 100mg/1ml (HK-66838) is a pharmaceutical product registered by GlaxoSmithKline Limited (GSK), and is a prescription-only medicine. As confirmed with GSK, the affected lots have not been imported into Hong Kong.
On 8 Jul 2021, the Department of Health (DH) endorsed GSK to recall a lot of Nucala Solution For Injection In Pre-filled Pen 100mg/1ml (HK-66838) (lot number: 3K4D) from the market as a precautionary measure due to a potential quality defect of the product. A press statement was issued on the same day. The DH will continue to monitor the recall.
