Canada: Recall: Mint-Rosuvastatin Tablet products recall; Out of specification (Impurity)
 
Health Canada announces that Mint Pharmaceuticals Inc is recalling the following products from wholesalers because the impurity is out of specification in the affected lots:
- Mint-Rosuvastatin 10 mg tablet (lot number: 14240935B, 14240936B, 14240937A, 14240934A, 14240935A, 14240936A)
- Mint-Rosuvastatin 20 mg tablet (lot number: 14240938A, 14240939A, 14240940A, 14240938B, 14240939B, 14240940B)
- Mint-Rosuvastatin 40 mg tablet (lot number: 14240941A, 14240942A)

The product is indicated as an adjunct to diet, at least equivalent to the Adult Treatment Panel III (ATP III TLC diet), for the reduction of elevated total cholesterol (Total-C), LDL-C, ApoB, the Total-C/HDL-C ratio and triglycerides and for increasing HDL-C; in hyperlipidemic and dyslipidemic conditions, when response to diet and exercise alone has been inadequate. It is also indicated to reduce the risk of nonfatal myocardial infarction, nonfatal stroke and coronary artery revascularization in patients without documented history of cardiovascular or cerebrovascular events, but with at least two conventional risk factors for cardiovascular disease.
