| Canada: Recall: Ferinject: labelled with the incorrect vial size on the outer carton |

Health Canada announces that CSL Behring is recalling 2 lots of Ferinject Dispersion (Iron (Ferric Carboxymaltose) 50 mg/ml) (lot number: 4621022EB, 4572022EA) from wholesalers because affected lots are labelled with the incorrect vial size on the outer carton.
The product is indicated for the treatment of iron deficiency anemia in adult and pediatric patients 1 year of age and older when oral iron preparations are not tolerated or are ineffective. It is also indicated for the treatment of iron deficiency in adult patients with heart failure and New York Heart Association class II/III to improve exercise capacity.

In Hong Kong, Ferinject Solution for Injection/Infusion 100mg/2ml (HK-64137) and Ferinject Solution for Injection/Infusion 500mg/10ml (HK-64138) are pharmaceutical products registered by Zuellig Pharma Limited (Zuellig). The products are prescription-only medicines. As confirmed by Zuellig, the affected lots have not been imported into Hong Kong.
