Products found to contain undeclared medicines

 
Australia: Safety advisory: France T253 capsules were found to contain undeclared sildenafil and chloramphenicol
 
The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) has tested a product labelled France T253 capsules and found that the capsules contain the undeclared substances sildenafil and chloramphenicol. Sildenafil is a prescription-only substance in Australia. Consumers are advised that chloramphenicol is a broad spectrum antibiotic used for topical treatment for infections. In Australia it is a pharmacist only substance for ophthalmic use and a prescription-only substance for all other uses. France T253 capsules pose a serious risk to health and should not be taken. TGA investigations have shown that a number of people in Australia may have bought the product online.

Consumers are advised to stop taking the product and consult their health care practitioner if they have any concerns arising from the use of the product.
