| Australia: Recall: METHOPT TEARS Viscous eye drops with hypromellose 0.5mg／mL |

The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) announces that Mylan Health Pty Ltd is recalling a batch of METHOPT TEARS (batch number: 200617) at wholesale level; because it has identified that the label of the affected batch has wrongly stated “hypromellose 0.5mg/mL”. The correct strength should be 5mg/mL. The product also contains benzalkonium chloride as a preservative, which has inadvertently been removed from the current label. There has been no change to the product formulation or strength. Dose instructions are present on the label and are correct.

In Hong Kong, Methopt Tears Eye Drops 5mg/ml (HK-40904) is registered by Aspen Asia Company Limited (Aspen) and is an over-the-counter medicine. As confirmed with Aspen, the affected batch has not been imported into Hong Kong.
