| Singapore: Recommended storage conditions at 2 to 8°C for Neupro® (rotigotine) transdermal patch |

UCB would like to remind healthcare professionals that Neupro® (rotigotine) transdermal patch is a cold-chain product and should be stored in a refrigerator (at 2 to 8°C) at the pharmacy and by patients to ensure stability of the product. A crystalline form of the active ingredient (rotigotine), visible as a snowflake-like pattern in the matrix of the transdermal patch, may appear if the product is stored outside the refrigerator. Although in most instances this snowflake-like pattern has no effect on product performance, there is a theoretical possibility that clinical efficacy may be reduced.

In Hong Kong, there are four pharmaceutical products registered under the name of Neupro Transdermal Patch (8mg/24h: HK-55444; 6mg/24h: HK-55445; 4mg/24h: HK-55446; 2mg/24h: HK-55447) and all are prescription-only medicines. The instruction of storing the products in a refrigerator (2°C to 8°C) has already been included in the approved product insert.
