Products found to contain undeclared medicines

 
Canada: Foreign Product Alerts: Pro ArthMax and Adipotrim XT - Contain Undeclared Drug Substances
 
Pro ArthMax (promoted for pain relief) was found to contian undeclared diclofenac, ibuprofen, naproxen, indomethacin, chlorzoxazone and nefopam. Diclofenac, ibuprofen, naproxen and indomethacin are drugs in the family known as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and are used to treat pain, fever and inflammation. Chlorzoxazone is a non-prescription muscle relaxant. Nefopam is a prescription drug used to treat pain and is not authorized for sale in Canada. Adipotrim XT (promoted for weight loss) was found to contain undeclared fluoxetine, a prescription drug used to treat depression which should only be taken under the supervision of a healthcare professional. These products are not authorized for sale in Canada and have not been found in the Canadian marketplace, but it is possible they may have been brought into the country by travellers or purchased over the Internet. Canadians who have these products are advised not to use them, and should consult with a healthcare professional if they have concerns about their health related to the use of these products.
