How to use head lice lotion

Permethrin 1%

1. Clean hair using a shampoo without conditioner. Rinse and towel dry, leaving hair slightly damp.
2. Shake well. Apply the lotion by rubbing it into your hair and scalp thoroughly. Pay special attention to parts such as hair root, scalp, back of neck, sideburns, fringe and back of ears.
3. Leave the lotion on for 10 minutes.
4. After 10 minutes, rinse the lotion from the hair thoroughly with warm water.
5. When the hair is still wet, comb thoroughly starting from the hair root with a nit comb to remove all lice and eggs attached on the hair.

Malathion 0.5%

1. Shake well. Apply the lotion by rubbing it into your hair and scalp thoroughly. Pay special attention to parts such as hair root, scalp, back of neck, sideburns, fringe and back of ears.
2. After application, allow your hair to dry naturally and keep it uncovered. Keep overnight or 12 hours.
3. After 12 hours, use shampoo without conditioner to clean your hair thoroughly.
4. When the hair is still wet, comb thoroughly starting from the hair root with a nit comb to remove all lice and eggs attached on the hair.
   
   
   

Notes for use

• Avoid contact with eyes. If the lotion accidentally gets into the eyes, flush the eyes immediately with plenty of water, and seek medical advice if necessary.
• If children require treatment, parents or adults should help them apply the lotion.
• If lice are still found after treatment, repeat the application as directed by doctor.
• All household member(s) or those who have had close physical contact with the infested person should also seek medical advice and receive treatment simultaneously if necessary.
  
  
  

Management of clothing, bed linen, etc.

All bedding, clothing, combs, hats and towels of the infested person should be washed separately from others with hot water and detergent.

Storage

Store the medications in a cool, dry place and away from direct heat and light. Generally, there is no need to store in the refrigerator unless stated on drug labels.
Store the medications out of reach of children to avoid accidental ingestion.
