Products found to contain undeclared medicines

| The United States: Undeclared drug ingredient found in Slim Forte Slimming Cap, Slim Forte Double Power Slimming Cap and Botanical Slimming Soft Gel |

The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is advising consumers not to purchase or use Slim Forte Slimming Capsule, Slim Forte Double Power Slimming Capsules and Botanical Slimming Soft Gel. FDA laboratory analysis confirmed that these products contain sibutramine. Sibutramine is a controlled substance that was removed from the U.S. market in October 2010 for safety reasons. These products pose a threat to consumers because sibutramine is known to substantially increase blood pressure and/or pulse rate in some patients and may present a significant risk for patients with a history of coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, or stroke.

In Hong Kong, the above product is not registered. In addition, the registration of all sibutramine-containing products in Hong Kong had been de-registered by the Registration Committee of the Pharmacy and Poisons Board on 2 November 2010. The Committee concluded that the increased cardiovascular risk of sibutramine outweighed the modest weight loss seen in patients.
