Products found to contain undeclared medicines

 
Canada: Foreign Product Alerts: Instant Slim was found to contain undeclared substances sibutramine and phenolphthalein
 
Health Canada warned consumers not to use Instant Slim, a product promoted for weight loss, after it was found to contain undeclared sibutramine and phenolphthalein. Other product names are printed in international characters on the package and translate to "Abdomen Hips Fruit Flavoured Slimming Capsules," and "Reducing Belly and Lifting the Buttocks". The side effects associated with sibutramine include heart attack and stroke, as well as increased blood pressure and heart rate, dry mouth, difficulty sleeping and constipation. This product is not authorized for sale in Canada and has not been found in the Canadian marketplace, but it is possible it may have been brought into the country by travellers or purchased over the Internet. Consumers who have this product are advised not to use it, and should consult with a healthcare professional if they have concerns about their health related to the use of this product.
