TGA has tested Meizi Evolution Botanical Slimming soft gel capsules and found that it contains the undeclared prescription substance sibutramine despite the product label claim that it is made of herbal ingredients and contains no medicines. Sibutramine is a prescription-only medicine and was withdrawn in October 2010 in Australia after a study showed an increased risk of major cardiac events. Consumers are advised to stop taking Best Slim capsules, take any remaining capsules to local pharmacy for safe disposal, and consult healthcare practitioner if they have any concerns arising from their use of the product.
