|
The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) has tested a product labelled as Powerful Leg-Slimming capsules and found that they contain the undeclared substance phenolphthalein which was previously used as an oral laxative, but is no longer available in Australia due to serious safety concerns associated with its long term use. Despite the package claims the capsules contain absolutely no pharmaceutical drugs. It also contains the substance diclofenac which is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory. The supply of Powerful Leg-Slimming capsules is illegal, and TGA investigations have shown that people in Australia may have bought the product online.
Consumers are advised to stop taking the product and consult your health care practitioner if you have any concerns arising from your use of this product.
