Australia: Safety advisory: Impeous Man Capsules were found to contain undeclared sildenafil and phenolphthalein |
|
The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) has tested a product labelled Impeous Man capsules and found that the capsules contain the undeclared substances sildenafil and phenolphthalein. Consumers are advised that sildenafil and phenolphthalein are both prescription-only substances in Australia. Phenolphthalein was withdrawn from sale on many markets in the late 1990’s due to concerns over its carcinogenicity with long term use. Impeous Man capsules pose a serious risk to health and should not be taken. TGA investigations have shown that a number of people in Australia may have bought the product online.
Consumers are advised to stop taking the product and consult their health care practitioner if they have any concerns arising from the use of the product.
Please refer to the following website in TGA for details:http://www.tga.gov.au/alert/impeous-man-capsules
In Hong Kong, the above product is not a registered pharmaceutical product.
